Sean K. Murphy

Sean began his professional life at the German Federal Trust Agency, mediating conflicting property restitution claims in the wake of German reunification. Sean subsequently practiced law at White & Case, LLP, Mayer, Brown & Platt, LLP and Deloitte Tax, LLP for 16 years in New York, specializing in tax and mergers and acquisitions.
Following his entrepreneurial interests, Sean moved to Telluride in 2012 to open a wine bar and fine art gallery business. Sean was elected mayor of Telluride, for the 2015 to 2019 term, and he currently serves as of counsel to the firm TGD Law, LLP, with offices in Denver and Telluride.
He is licensed in New York, North Carolina and Colorado. In May 2020, Governor Jared Polis appointed Sean to the San Miguel County Court in the 7th Judicial District of Colorado.
